Recently, the customer of a complete plant in Nanjing reported that the on-site GDCY-200kV/10kJ lightning impulse generator equipment failed, which was manifested as unstable output of the equipment, communication interruption, frequent overcurrent failures and insensitive touch screen problems. After receiving the feedback, our technical staff quickly arrived at the scene and carried out a comprehensive test on the equipment. After the preliminary test, the basic function of the equipment is normal.
The technicians measured the ground resistance on site and found that it was 0.65Ω, higher than the 0.2Ω required by the manufacturer. The customer’s self-test is 0.2Ω, but the manufacturer requires that the ground resistance be reduced.
In order to solve the problem of equipment instability, technicians recalibrated the ball pitch and conducted run-in tests. At the same time, the primary side overcurrent fault is shielded, and 15 continuous tests and 54 impact tests are carried out. All waveforms and voltages meet the requirements, and the equipment is relatively stable. At the request of the customer, we carried out automatic tests of 75KV negative polarity, 85KV negative polarity and 85KV positive polarity, and the waveform was normal.
In the troubleshooting process, our technicians were patient and meticulous, and finally found the root cause of the fault. Regular maintenance and maintenance of equipment can effectively avoid the occurrence of failures.
